The Bobcats baseball team was back on the road against Greenville University Tuesday night winning 22-4. Offense totaled eighteen hits in seven innings, scoring a total of 22 runs. After Tuesday win the Bobcats come in at 11-8 (0-0). You can catch Frontier as they have their home conference opener this Thursday against Southeastern Illinois College, game time starts at 3:00 P.M. with a single 9-inning game.
Frontier Nabs Win Over Greenville University.
Despite allowing four runs in the second inning, Frontier defeated Greenville University 22-4 on Tuesday. In the first inning, Frontier got their offense started. An error scored one run for Frontier.
Frontier scored nine runs in the second inning. The Bobcats put the pressure on, led by singles by Braxton Gerek (League City, TX.) and Samuele DeSimone (Francavilla Al Marte, ITL.), a triple by Ben Scartz (Tarpoon Springs, FL.), a sacrifice fly by Trent Rice (Bowling Green, KY.), an error on a ball put in play by Jacob White (Lewisport, KY.), and a double by Cole Rasbury (Bellville, TX.).
Eli Tencza (Lexington, KY.) was the winning pitcher for Frontier. He surrendered four runs on three hits over two innings, striking out one. Alex Kerr (West Chester, OH.), Kiebert Medina (Gainsville, FL.), and Zach Moore (St. Louis, MO.) all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. #16 led things off on the mound for Greenville University JV. He went one inning, allowing nine runs on five hits and striking out two. #21, #19, and #15 each contributed in relief for Greenville University JV.
Frontier’s Offense totaled 18 hits. Braxton Gerek, Samuele DeSimone, Jake Cace (Tarpoon Springs, FL.), and Angel Figueroa (Dorado, PR.) each managed multiple hits for Frontier. Braxton Gerek went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Bobcats in hits. Frontier didn't commit a single error in the field. Angel Figueroa had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
