With the reschedule game on Saturday, the Frontier Baseball team managed to win two games on Saturday against Morton College, 12-5, and 5-4. Jacob White had a great day at the plate racking up five hits between two games. After this weekend’s games the bobcats will start their home stretch on Thursday against Heartland College, playing 8 games in four days.
Jacob White Drives In Five As Frontier Defeats Morton CC.
Jacob White (Lewisport, KY.) was an RBI machine on Saturday, driving in five on two hits to lead Frontier past Morton CC 12-5 on Saturday. Jacob White drove in runs on a triple in the second and a double in the sixth.
Drew Janssen (Antwerp, BE.) toed the rubber for the Bobcats. He went four and a third innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out eight. Mac Grant (Tampa, FL.) recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for Frontier. #9 was on the hill for Morton CC. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on five hits and striking out one. #33 and #8 entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and one inning respectively.
Frontier totaled ten hits. Braxton Gerek (League City, TX.) , Jacob White, and Ben Scartz (Tarpoon Springs, FL.) all had multiple hits for the Bobcats. Braxton Gerek went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Frontier in hits. The Bobcats tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Jacob White led the way with three.
Frontier Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Morton CC.
Frontier snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Morton CC on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Frontier batting in the bottom of the fifth when Jacob White singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
In the first inning, Morton CC got their offense started. #35 was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. Ernan Rivera (Chicago, IL.) led things off on the hill for Frontier. He surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out three. #22 toed the rubber for Morton CC. He surrendered five runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out four and walking zero. #28 threw one inning out of the bullpen.
Frontier saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Jacob White, Braxton Gerek, and Bradley Taylor (Russellville, KY.) all managed multiple hits for Frontier. Jacob White led Frontier with three hits in three at bats.
