Tyrus joined our staff in the spring of 2023 where he is currently assisting with our infielders, hitters, first base coach, and will oversee our strength and conditioning program. This is Tyrus' first stop in coaching college baseball.
Originally from Vian, Oklahoma. Tyrus spent one year at Labette Community College in Kansas before transferring to Ecclesia College in Arkansas. During his time there playing for Coach McCue, Tyrus was a staple hitter and first baseman where his work ethic and leadership qualities helped lead Ecclesia to multiple weeks ranked nationally and a 2021 berth in the NCCAA World Series. In 2022, Tyrus was named to the 2nd team of all central region, for the NCCAA.
Coach Wells graduated from Ecclesia College with a B.S. in Sports Management.
