BOBCATS ROLL WITH TWO BIG WINS AGAINST ILLINOIS CENTRAL

The Bobcats traveled to Illinois Central College for a two-game set. After winning both games against Illinois Central the Bobcats are 15-2 in their last seventeen games. Game one had a dominate pitching performance by Brendan Reid going eight strong innings, striking out five batters on the day. Game two turned into a slug fest, seeing some power by Catcher Starley Hilario, and Shortstop Ren Reynolds both homering in the game. The Bobcats Offense scored a total of eighteen runs, on nineteen hits.

The Bobcats next game will be at home Thursday March 21st against Wabash Valley College one single nine inning game starting at 3:00 P.M. After those two wins the Bobcats are now 17-9 (5-1) for the season, currently ranked second in Region 24 play.

Four RBI Day For Ren Reynolds Leads Frontier Past Illinois Central.

Ren Reynolds (Kilgore, TX.) wasted no opportunities at the plate on Tuesday, driving in four on two hits to lead the Bobcats past Illinois Central 14-5 on Tuesday. Ren Reynolds drove in runs on a double in the second and a home run in the seventh. Frontier earned the victory despite allowing Illinois Central to score three runs in the second inning.

The Bobcats fired up the offense in the first inning. Frontier scored one run on a stolen base. Frontier notched six runs in the seventh inning. The Bobcats big bats were led by Robert Trevino (Houston,TX.) , Brody Tisdale (Greenwood, IN.), Starly Hilario (San Juan, PR.), and Ren Reynolds, all driving in runs in the frame.

Trayce Abbott (McLoud, OK.) earned the victory on the hill for Frontier. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and three runs. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Gamaliel Echevarria (Camuy, PR.), Lane McMaster (Shepard, TX.), Mac Grant (Tampa, FL.), and Ty Ramey (Princeton, KY.) all securing outs and ultimately the victory. The Bobcats Offense hit two home runs on the day. Ren Reynolds had a long ball in the seventh inning. Starly Hilario went deep in the sixth inning.

Frontier racked up 13 hits. Bradley Taylor (Russellville, KY.), Starly Hilario, Robert Trevino (Houston, TX.), Ren Reynolds, and Caleb Evans (Lincolnshire, IL.) each collected multiple hits for Frontier. Bradley Taylor led Frontier with three hits in five at bats. The Bobcats tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Ren Reynolds led the way with two.

Frontier Claims Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Illinois Central.

Frontier took the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Illinois Central on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Frontier batting in the top of the eighth when Braxton Gerek (League City, TX.) doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the first inning, the Bobcats got their offense started. Caleb Evans doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Illinois Central CC tied things up at two. Hofer's sac fly scored one run for Illinois Central CC.

Brendan Reid (Union, KY.) earned the victory on the mound for Frontier. He allowed four hits and two runs over eight innings, striking out five. Frontier saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game. Braxton Gerek and Caleb Evans each had multiple hits for Frontier. The Bobcats defense didn't commit a single error in the field.
