BASEBALL PICKS UP TWO WINS IN HOME OPENER

Frontier Baseball took two wins in the home opener against Lindenwood University- Belleville. Game one’s win was fueled by the offense hot start scoring twelve runs in the first inning. Finishing game one 20-13 in favor of the Bobcats. Game two came down to the last at bat when Trey Woosley hit a walk-off homerun to seal the deal 10-9. The Bobcats offense finished the day totaling seventeen extra-base hits, fifteen stolen bases, twenty-eight hits, and scoring thirty-one runs.  Frontier looks to continue their hot steak Friday March 1st at Heartland Community College, a double-header that starts at 1 P.M.

 Matthew Espinosa Shines At The Plate In Frontier Victory Over Lindenwood- Belleville

Matthew Espinosa (Fort Worth, TX.) came to ballpark and meant business on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading Frontier to a 20-13 win over LU Belleville. Matthew Espinosa homered in the first, doubled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.

An early lead helped propel Frontier to victory. Frontier scored on a double by Braxton Gerek (League City, TX.), a single by Bradley Taylor (Russellville, KY.), a walk by Malik Blair (Chicago, IL.), a home run by Matthew Espinosa, a double by Brody Tisdale (Greenwood, IN.), a double by Trey Woosley (Breckinridge, KY.), a single by Braxton Gerek, a sacrifice fly by Malik Blair, and a double by Caleb Evans (Lincolnshire, IL.) in the first inning.

Rafael Nolasco (Vera Cruz, MX.) led things off on the mound for the Bobcats. He allowed four hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one. Frontier launched three home runs on the day. Braxton Gerek went for the long ball in the fifth inning. Trey Woosley went deep in the sixth inning. Matthew Espinosa had a homer in the first inning.

Frontier collected 18 hits on the day. Matthew Espinosa, Braxton Gerek, Bradley Taylor, Trey Woosley, Brody Tisdale, and Caleb Evans all collected multiple hits for Frontier. Matthew Espinosa went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Bobcats in hits.

Walk-Off Gives Frontier Victory Over Lindenwood Belleville

Frontier took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off home run at the end of the game to topple LU Belleville. Frontier was down 10-9 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Trey Woosley homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. Bats blistered as the Bobcats collected ten hits in the high-scoring game.

Frontier evened things up at seven in the bottom of the fourth inning when Bradley Taylor doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Caleb Rush (Fortville, In.) was on the pitcher's mound for the Bobcats. He lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out five. Frontier socked one home run on the day by Trey Woosley dinger in the seventh inning.

Frontier totaled ten hits. Ren Reynolds (Kilgore, TX.), Trey Woosley, and Braxton Gerek each racked up multiple hits for Frontier Ren Reynolds led the Bobcats with three hits in four at bats. Frontier stole ten bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Brody Tisdale led the way with five.
