FRONTIER WINS SERIES AGAINST SOUTHEASTERN ILLINOIS COLLEGE

The Bobcats win this past weekend’s series against Southeastern Illinois College. Pitching Performance was done by Andrew Shoultz (Scurry, TX.) going seven innings in game one striking out fifteen batters. The Bobcats offense had a great weekend scoring a total of 35 runs, on 37 hits in three games.

After the series against Southeastern Illinois College, the Bobcats sit with a record of 15-9 (5-1). Games roll around this Tuesday at Illinois Central College starting at 2 P.M. The Bobcats will be at FNB field this Saturday to face Wabash Valley College for a double-header.

Frontier Falls To SIC After Extra Innings Score.

Saturday's game against SIC was a heartbreaker for Frontier, as they lost the lead late in a 9-8 defeat. The game was tied at eight with SIC batting in the top of the tenth when Geiler's sac fly scored one run for SIC. Frontier collected ten hits and SIC had seven in the high-scoring affair.

Frontier CC Spring 2019 scored one run when Braxton Gerek (League City, TX.) doubled in the first inning. After SIC scored two runs in the top of the eighth, the Bobcats answered with two of their own. SIC scored when Kuester homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. Frontier then answered when Brody Tisdale (Greenwood, IN.)  homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. The Bobcats socked one home run on the day by Brody Tisdale long ball in the eighth inning.

Frontier had ten hits in the game. Bradley Taylor (Russellville, KY.) and Brody Tisdale all had multiple hits for the Bobcats. Bradley Taylor led Frontier CC Spring 2019 with four hits in five at bats. The Bobcats tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Starly Hilario (San Juan, PR.) led the way with two.

Frontier Defeats SIC Despite Allowing 4-Run Inning.

Frontier managed through a push by SIC in the first inning where the Bobcats coughed up four runs, but Frontier still won 10-6 on Saturday. Frontier CC Spring 2019 collected nine hits and SIC had seven in the high-scoring affair.

After SIC scored two runs in the top of the third, Frontier answered with two of their own. SIC scored when Strother's sac fly scored two runs for SIC. Frontier then answered when Trey Woosley (Breckinridge, KY.) doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and Caleb Evans (Lincolnshire, IL.) tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

The Bobcats pulled away for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth an error scored one run for Frontier, Braxton Gerek singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Caleb Evans tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. Jestin Jones (Fort Meyers, FL.) earned the win for the Bobcats. He went four innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out three. Caleb Rush (Fortville, IN.) threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Bobcats launched one home run on the day. Robert Trevino (Houston, TX.) had a dinger came in the second inning. Frontier scattered nine hits in the game. Braxton Gerek, Trey Woosley, and Caleb Evans each had multiple hits for the Bobcats. Braxton Gerek went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Frontier in hits.

Jacob White Drives In Four As Frontier Wins Over SIC.

Jacob White (Lewisport, KY.) showed timely hitting on Sunday, driving in four on two hits to lead Frontier past SIC 17-5 on Sunday. Jacob White drove in runs on a groundout in the third, a single in the fifth, and a single in the sixth. In the first inning, Frontier got their offense started when Robert Trevino drew a walk, scoring one run.

Frontier scored six runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Jacob White and Trey Woosley, a home run by Braxton Gerek, and a double by Ren Reynolds(Kilgore, TX.). Alex Kerr (West Chestor, OH.) got the win for Frontier. He went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five. Brice Stuteville (Rockport, IN.) threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Bobcats hit one home run on the day coming from Braxton Gerek in the fifth inning. Frontier scattered 18 hits in the game. Robert Trevino, Ren Reynolds, Starly Hilario, Trey Woosley, Braxton Gerek, Brody Tisdale, and Jacob White all managed multiple hits for Frontier. Ren Reynolds and Robert Trevino each collected three hits to lead the Bobcats offense. Frontier was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
