BASEBALL DROPS FOUR CLOSE ONES.

The Frontier College Baseball team went on the road this past weekend to play a double header against Southwest Mississippi CC and Copiah Lincoln CC.  Frontier would drop both series making their season record now 2-6 on the year.  The Bobcats will be back in action this Wednesday for their home opener against Lindenwood-Belleville. Frontier Loses Lead Early In Defeat Against Southwest Mississippi

Frontier fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-1 loss to Southwest MS on Friday. Southwest MS CC scored on a single by #8 and a groundout by #25 in the first inning. The Frontier Bobcats struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Southwest MS, giving up 11 runs. #4 led things off on the hill for Southwest MS CC. He went five innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out five and walking one.

Brice Stuteville (Rockport, IN) started the game for the Bobcats. He lasted three innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out one. Alex Kerr (West Chester, OH) and Connor Ryle (Union, KY) entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one-third of an inning respectively. Braxton Gerek (League City, TX) and Robert Trevino (Houston, TX) each managed one hit to lead Frontier.

 

Frontier Drops Game Two Against Southwest Mississippi After Late Score

Friday's game two against Southwest MS was a heartbreaker for Frontier, as they lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat. The game was tied at three with Frontier batting in the top of the seventh when Braxton Gerek's sac fly scored one run for Frontier.

The Bobcats lost despite out-hitting Southwest MS CC seven to six. Frontier opened up scoring in the first inning, when Bradley Taylor (Russellville, KY) singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. #24 was on the hill for Southwest MS. He surrendered three runs on four hits over three and a third innings, striking out five and walking one.

Andrew Shoultz (Scurry, TX) was on the pitcher's mound for Frontier. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking one. Jestin Jones (Fort Myers, FL) and Brendan Reid (Union, KY) entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and one-third of an inning respectively. Frontier smacked one home run on the day. Camron Yeldell (Missouri City, TX) went for the long ball in the third inning. Frontier tallied seven hits on the day. Braxton Gerek and Camron Yeldell each racked up multiple hits for Frontier.

 

Frontier Takes A Tough Blow From Copiah Lincoln

It was a tough day on Saturday for Frontier, who lost 8-1 to Copiah Lincoln. Frontier got things moving in the first inning, when Jacob White (Lewisport, KY) singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Copiah Lincoln knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. #35 singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Copiah Lincoln pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth #24 hit a solo homer and an error scored two runs for Copiah Lincoln. #5 toed the rubber for Copiah Lincoln. He lasted three innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero.

Trayce Abbott (McLoud, OK) started the game for Frontier. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and three runs. Ty Ramey (Princeton, KY), Gamaliel Echevarria (Camuy, PR), andLane McMaster (Shepard, TX) each contributed in relief for the Bobcats. Frontier racked up eight hits in the game. Malik Blair (Chicago, IL) and Jacob White all had multiple hits for the Bobcats.

Frontier watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-1 loss to Copiah Lincoln on Saturday. The Frontier struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Copiah Lincoln, giving up 11 runs. #21 led things off on the hill for Copiah Lincoln. He went four and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out six.

Nick Conner (South Bend, IN) led things off on the pitcher's mound for Frontier. He lasted one inning, allowing three hits and three runs while walking one. Caleb Rush (Fortville, IN), Brendan Reid, Lane McMaster, and Dakota Basham (Roundhill, KY) each entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings, one and one-third innings, one inning, and two-thirds of an inning respectively. Braxton Gerek led Frontier with two hits in three at bats. The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday February 20th at home against Lindenwood University- Belleville in a double header starting at 1:00pm.
