Coach McCue comes to Frontier from Springdale, Arkansas where he was the head coach and the Athletic Director for Ecclesia College. He brings a wealth of knowledge with him. His seasons at Ecclesia yielded more than 30 wins each year, multiple weeks ranked nationally in the National Christian College Athletic Association polls and included two trips to the NCCAA World Series. Individually, he had four student athletes named all-Americans, 11 to all central region team, and 11 scholar athletes. His team at Ecclesia earned a 2021 berth in the NCCAA world series and his offense broke records for HR’s, 2B’s, runs/game, batting average and extra base hits. From a culture perspective, his philosophies center around the development of student athletes both on and off the field to ensure the best preparation for their future endeavors.

As a player, Coach McCue began his career at New River Community College. During his time at NRCC, He set multiple individual program records, including single season batting average, and career batting average. Following the 2011 season he transferred to Saint Andrews University in Laurinburg, North Carolina. During his time there he was a two-year starter in the outfield and a relief pitcher. He was named to the all-conference team in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in 2013. McCue also spent two summers in 2013 and 2014 playing independent professional baseball in New Mexico and Ohio. 

Matt McCue graduated from Saint Andrews University with a Bachelor of Arts in History in December, 2015. He received his Master's in Ministry from Carolina University in 2020. He married his wife, Kelsey, in 2015 and they have two kids. Anne, born in 2019, and Calvin, born in 2022.
